Finally, Some Normalcy!

I don't know how you guys are feeling, but MAN, does it ever feel good to be able to squeeze some family again. ALL OF THE FEELS.

In the last post, I had mentioned how hard it was getting for us to be away from all of our loved ones, and to only be able to FaceTime or phone them, and share photos digitally to show what we've been up to.

I'm not saying I caused the allowance of family gatherings - but what I am saying is 'if you build it, they will come', aka you gotta put these vibes out into the universe to get any results. We all of course did our part to keep everyone safe, and am I EVER glad that we get to spend time with our families and 'huggable humans' now.

This past weekend was Fathers Day weekend, as I am sure you're all aware. I hope you spoiled all the dads - including the dads to be, the dad's we're missing, the men that are trying to be dads, and the dads who have stepped into that role for you and your family! And by spoiled, I don't mean with materialistic things - unless that's what you're into - I mean with love, and time. Those, my friends, are the most important things any of us will ever receive.

We, thankfully, had a weekend full of loved ones spoiling us with those gifts! We had a Birthday dinner for Mitch's mom and some of Mitch's family on Thursday. On Friday we got to see my mom. On Saturday we went to Mitch's dads for a Fathers Day BBQ and swim, and on Sunday we went to my dads for dinner and a swim. Needless to say - we're thankful to be able to see our humans again and the kids were over the moon to see someone other than us.

Sunday was actually Father's Day, even though we celebrated Mitch on Friday (the weekend was packed full of plans). So Sunday, we put Mitch to work and he finished a side of the chicken coop in some of the Hardie Board we had left over from when we built our house.

The boys enjoyed the yard, tended to their gardens, and hung out with some chicks. Our five week old (almost full grown) chicks, that is!

We topped Sunday off with a nice dinner and a swim at my dads. It was a great weekend, and our souls definitely feel rejuvenated after seeing our families. We are so fortunate that Peterborough only has four active cases of covid, and that we are able to start doing some normal things again. Let's hope everyone keeps doing their part to contribute to that, and we can look forward to seeing more of our friends and families in a larger capacity soon!

I am now 7 months pregnant (what?!) and we are in the third trimester, and home stretch. People seem shocked with my ever-growing baby belly because, of course, we haven't been able to see anyone in months! I am definitely feeling large, the sleep is getting harder, and choosing a name has to be the hardest part. We don't know if we're having a boy or a girl, so we have to narrow down two lists instead of just one this time! If you guys have any name suggestions, they are MORE than welcome! We haven't fallen in love with any we've come across yet.

We hope you're all doing well, and feeling some sense of relief with this new phase of openings and gathering allowances happening. As an added bonus, we've got the weather on our side these days! Stay positive friends!

Until next time,

B
